Energy Tips

Browsing through other blogs, I found a list of tips on how to save on energy at Household Tips. According to the blog, the tips all came from a web site known as “Get Energy Active” which you can access through http://www.getenergyactive.org, a site created by Edison Electric Institute.
I did go through the site and here are some really cool facts that you may want to remember:
Every Little Watt Counts. The amount of electricity your household uses over a period of time is measured in kilowatt-hours (kWh). Although electricity use varies widely depending on the season and the region of the country, a typical U.S. household uses about 938 kWh of electricity a month.
There are also some facts on fuel:
Fuel diversity is smart. It protects electric companies and their customers from contingencies such as fuel unavailability, fuel price fluctuations, and changes in regulatory practices that can drive up the cost of a particular fuel. Fuel diversity also helps ensure stability and reliability in electricity supply and strengthens national security.
You can also try out the quiz and see just how you fare.
