GPS Receiver Gets Solar Sprucing Up

by Noel on January 2nd, 2007

If you are out in the market for a Bluetooth enabled GPS receiver, you would most certainly be having a grand time looking for that one which could be up to your standards and wants. Almost every other Bluetooth GPS receiver would offer the same thing. Well, aside for this one receiver I came upon.

Transystems of Taiwan is offering the market a Bluetooth GPS receiver that has can be powered by solar energy. Transystems calls their creation the i-Blue757. And according to the company, this gadget can actually be used for up to 26 hours of use. But if you get some help from the sun, you get a whooping 100 hours of use. And when drained, you can simply fill up the energy by taking in the sun’s rays for only three hours.

How much does this one weigh? Transystems says that their i-Blue757 unit only weights 3.7 ounces. Now that is quite light, if I may say so.
