Grants Help Spread Solar Power Advantages

by Noel on June 13th, 2008

In San Francisco, officials of this city are working on ways to actually be able to see renewable energy like solar power being used widely by citizens. One of the most recent steps that the city government has done was to approve grants which would allow those who are interested in having solar panels installed in their homes and buildings start doing such. With such a move, it is estimated that solar companies who offer solar power and solar technologies would be having quite a higher number of sales.

If you own a home, you would be able to take advantage of a grant that could range from $3,000 to $6,000. That amount you could use to purchase those solar panels and have them installed as well. The amount would be $10,000 for businesses as well as for non-profit organizations.

Gavin Newsom is the mayor of the city and he said, “This rebate program further establishes San Francisco as America’s solar energy leader and symbolizes the commitment of the city to make affordable solar power available to those who want it.”
