Green Hotel In San Francisco
Last February 29th, a new hotel in San Francisco was opened. This was the Hotel Carlton and it has been made to be a green hotel. It is the very first hotel in the area that uses solar panels.
Pamela Flank is Hotel Carlton’s general manager and she stated, “The operational changes we’ve made along with the new solar array will lessen the environmental impact of the hotel. We are proud to have met the strict San Francisco Green Business certification standards so that we can offer an environmentally-sustainable experience to our guests, our employees and the community.” Indeed, this hotel is really something.
The Hotel Carlton makes use of recycled paper, inks that are soy-based, cleaning products that are non-chemical. For power, the hotel has 105 solar panel units and they are mounted on the hotel’s roof. The management of the hotel has disclosed that they are looking at being able to save as much as 12% of electricity because of the solar panels.
