Hawaiians Willing To Pay To Protect Mother Nature

by Noel on August 28th, 2007

In Hawaii, a survey was recently done and it had 2,000 residents as the respondents. The results were then analyzed and it did reflect that a huge part of the whole lot cared about the environment and are even willing to shed more cash just to be able to keep it from further destruction.

Also, the survey results did also point out that the huge number of the whole respondents that aside from paying, they would also take it if they were restricted to use public roads, shell out more on tolls, and spend much on higher prices of fuel. All these they are willing to do just to save the environment and also help find the answer to traffic situations.

“I think the (survey) response probably represents how people value keeping Hawaii’s natural beauty and natural resources intact and they don’t want to sacrifice that for uncontrolled population growth,” replies Connie Mitchell on the issue. Mitchell is the executive director of the Institute for Human Services.
