It’s Wind Power For This Community

by Noel on November 29th, 2006

It took the community a couple of months of applying and waiting. But now, the Troy Township already has got it’s new wind turbine up and working. Now, they are utilizing wind power as their source of energy.

The wind turbine was raised and built with a cumulative effort from workers of the community along with that of the workers from Solair Energy Inc. The machine was installed right behind the official building of the community. It has been said that the wind turbine that was set up has the capacity to generate electricity for the community. More importantly, it also has the capacity to let the township save an average of $40 to $60 per month on costs on electricity. But of course, the president of Solair Energy did say that the town’s savings would depend on the speed of the wind each month.

Troy Township is not the only community which has applied for such a kind of renewable energy source in the country. In fact, the Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority had received quite a number of applications for their Small-Scale Community Wind Project.
