It’s Zero Energy For This Structure

by Noel on February 11th, 2008

Yes, you read that right. There is a building which would be using up zero energy from the grids.

This building, named Energy Plus, is located somewhere along Paris in France and it is a creation of Skidmore Owings & Merrill. Just so you know (a piece of trivia for all of us), the group behind the building is the very same people who have worked on the Freedom Tower in New York.

So why would it not be using any energy from the grids? Well, reports have it that the building has been designed so much so that it has tons of photovoltaic cells on its roof. These would take energy from the sun and then convert it into usable energy which would give power to everything in the building.

Now this building I would like to visit. A building which does not use up power from the grid is something that I would want to see first hand.
