Kenny Luna’s Bright Idea Gains Momentum
If you’re a regular visitor here or at other green blogs, then you’re sure to have heard of Kenny Luna. Kenny and his grade 8 science students are trying to get Oprah to back their plan to see every kid in the US get a compact fluorescent light bulb to help raise awareness of and fight global warning. (See my original Bright Idea post here.)
Kenny and his gang from Robert Moses Middle School in North Babylon, N.Y. held a press conference today that according to reports went really well. The local ABC news featured it directly after Oprah’s show today and they’re going to be in tomorrow’s edition of Newsday.
One big announcement from today’s conference was that the Deer Park Home Depot on Long Island is going to donate 5,500 CFL bulbs to the youth of America on behalf of the Bright Idea project.
Congratulations folks! Next stop, Chicago!
