Kodak’s Going Green

by Noel on February 29th, 2008

We know Kodak as one of the famous camera and photo companies. And a recent piece of news I read reported that the company was going to go green by working with Wal-Mart. They would be rounding up printer ribbons, cartridges, and spools - all made of PETE plastic. These would be taken from Kodak’s picture kiosks which are scattered all around the country.

Come to think of it, Kodak has 4,100 of those picture kiosks in the country. So just think how long it would take them to round up all of those printer ribbons, cartridges, and spools.

If you think that this is Kodak’s first contribution to the green revolution, then you are wrong. See, the company has already done green things before like a program they launched which was aimed at recycling disposable cameras. So imagine, Kodak is so into recycling and they have been successful at that. I do hope they continue to do this. But I’d be far more impressed with them if they would maybe use solar power for their offices perhaps?
