Largest Canada Wind Farm, Now Completed

by Noel on January 9th, 2007

And it is now complete!

Located in Ontario, Canada, the largest wind farm in this country is already complete. The project is called the Prince Wind Energy Project and it was Brookfield Power who did the work. This huge and windy project holds 126 wind turbines. And all of these are spread out over 20,000 acres of land.

Harry Goldgut of Brookfield Power shares: “The completion of our first wind development represents a major achievement for Brookfield Power – increasing our total capacity to almost 3,800 MW and expanding our renewable power portfolio in Ontario to almost 1,200 MW. In a little over a year we have constructed Canada’s largest wind farm. It’s a tribute to the members of the local communities, our employees and construction partners and everyone else who supported this development, including all levels of government.”

According to experts, the Prince Wind Energy Project has the capacity to produce energy that is clean and has no emissions. Converted energy could light up 40,000 homes annually.
