Largest Solar Roof Planned
The supposedly largest solar project that would be installed in a building’s roof is currently being planned. This should be the largest in the country and it is going to be set up in the Atlantic City Convention Center.
According to the organizers, this solar project should be able to provide as much as 25% of the whole amount of energy that the building would be needing. The installation would be done by Pepco Energy Services which is a company based in Arlington, Virginia. The whole roof of the convention center would not be filled with solar panels though. Only around two-thirds would be mounted with such solar technology. However, this project is so large that the panels would take on around 290,000 square feet of space on the roof.
Jeffrey Vasser is Atlantic City Convention and Visitors Authority’s executive director and he said, “We have a great building to do this on, and we wanted to be the first kid on the block to get in on it.”
