London Pushing For More Recycling Bins
In London, a group, Defra, is pushing to have more recycling bins in places open to the public. In a document released by the group, they are promising to oversee “the development of guidance and a voluntary code of practice” for such. They are also pointing out that more recycling bins in public places like shopping malls, groceries, and train and bus stations would be a good improvement.At present, they already have this public consultation which they have dubbed as the “Recycle on the Go”. Here, the public could learn about recycling systems, how they can be set up, and how to go about keeping such systems working well. Suggestions were also shared by the group in the document that they released.
I do think that with the right cooperation and the right amount of information dissemination, this project would not go to waste. It would also be quite interesting if more countries would follow such a campaign so as to help out in keeping our environment clean and forever green.

Defra is the Department for Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs - a government department. So while it’s good they’re promoting this, I often wonder why they don’t campaign withing their own government and pass legislation forcing these public places to have recycling facilities.

Are those the cutest bins ever or what? I actually saw some like that at Oddpodz — you’d probably like them. I think all recycle bins should be this colorful.
