Make That Smoothie Without Electricity

by Noel on May 21st, 2007

It was an interesting day for me. I was able to watch Ann Curry on the NBC show, “Today” and what held my interest was that she did sure display just how “green” she is.

You see, she made a smoothie by using what she calls a “people-powered blender”. And while she was doing this, she was explaining that using such a gadget helps save the environment.

Her gadget is actually a blender that is mounted, attached, and rigged to a bicycle. When you pedal the bicycle, the blender’s blades whirr and do their work. So there is no consumption of electricity whatsoever.

As part of the show, she showed off the prowess of her “green gadget” along with Jerry Greenfield, who, as we all know, is one of the founders of the famous Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream. Curry even exclaims, “You see, you can save the environment! It is possible!”
