Moving Over To Solar City

by Noel on November 12th, 2008

Japan is still indeed the Land of the Rising Sun. And that is what a neighborhood had decided to prove when it became a solar community.

This is the community known as Pal Town and it can be found in Ota City, Japan. It is known as currently one of the sunniest places in the country. And it is indeed a very good location to put in solar technologies.

According to statistics, only a quarter of the whole solar community’s roofs do not come with solar panels. That is indeed a very good number if you ask me. And I certainly would want to live in this kind of community. See, Pal Town’s solar panels were given to the residents for free. And they can use the energy for whatever purpose they would need it.

Mika Hiroshima is married and has two children. She is has lived in Pal Town since 2005 and she says, “We moved here because of the panels — it was something we wanted, but not something we could afford on our own.”
