Nokia Users Do Not Recycle
Well, that is according to a study that the mobile phone creator has conducted. It has been disclosed that of the entire number of respondents. Only 3% recycled their mobile phones. Also, half of the whole lot had declared that they did not even know that their old mobile phones could still be used.
And so, what Nokia did was put up automatic kiosks which were set up in Klang Valley in Malaysia. This is actually one of the ways that they had decided was good to let people know that mobile phones can be recycled. And they can do that by leaving their old mobile phones with these kiosks.
Nellie Abdullah is the environmental coordinator of Nokia Malaysia and he disclosed, “We’ve been at the forefront of driving environmental initiatives in the mobile industry for over a decade, and Nokia Malaysia is the first to launch this automated recycling machine within Nokia globally.”
