Nuna III Wins World Solar Challenge
The Dutch Nuon team from the Technical University of Delft crossed the finish line earlier today to take their third win in the World Solar Challenge. The team’s Nuna III car reached Adelaide in just 29 hours and 11 minutes, beating their own previous record by 1 hour and 43 minutes.
With an average speed of 103.5 km/h (64.3 mph), the Nuna III car was reaching speeds in excess of 110 km/h in earlier parts of race. The team was amazed at how well the car performed today as they encountered cloudy weather at the end of their 3021 km journey.
