Palmer Arrives In Vancouver

by Noel on July 4th, 2008

Remember that Swiss driver who has been circling the world in his solar car? Well, it has been disclosed that this driver, Louis Palmer, has just touched Vancouver soil.

It is quite interesting to note that when Palmer was asked, he shared that he had dreams of going around the globe in a vehicle which got power from the sun. And that happened to him back when he was still a teenager.

Now that he is already in Vancouver, this is already the start the North American part of his world tour. And this would be a good way to tell people that traveling in a vehicle that gets power from the sun is not impossible. Palmer even shared, “I’m showing people that we have a solution to global warming. Does it go up hills? No problem. It’s a Swiss car. At night, I travel 300 kilometres on solar power. And it’s like an ordinary car. It’s very stable and has a maximum speed of 90 km/h.”

Thanks for posting this. This is way cool. I hope this turns out to be something down the road that we can all take advantage of. I am glad that there are people out there taking the initiative to harness readily available resources from our earth that are in the air, water, and sun - ones you dont have to dig up for and spend money and wage wars on. We have plenty of sun for everyone!
