Recycle Your Old Mobile Phone, Says Red Cross

by Noel on February 26th, 2007

The American Red Cross has found a way so as to be able to help out the environment and at the same time make money for the non-profit organization. So how would they do it?

According to a spokesperson from the organization, they are going to raise the funds that they need for their projects by collecting old and unused cellular phones and mobile phones. However, not all chapters of the American Red Cross would be joining in the event. You see, the main chapter that would be heading such a brigade would be the organization’s chapter from Southern Arizona.

This chapter of the Red Cross would be working alongside the group Phones4Charity. They would be collecting old phones and used mobile phones from schools, companies, and other places of business. The Red Cross would then have these gadgets recycled and when everything’s okay, they would be sold again to countries which do need mobile phones.
