Scotland May Mandate Renewable Energy in New Buildings
Jeff at Sustainablog has pointed to an interesting development taking place in Scotland. Earlier this week, government officals proposed a change to the region’s building code that could lead to a significant boost in renewable energy use.
If implemented, it would become mandatory for all new housing developments and other buildings to generate a minimum of ten per cent of their energy use from wind, solar, and other renewable sources on-site. How cool is that?
