Ski Areas And Global Warming

This week, several ski areas in Denver are meeting up so as to talk about global warming and its effects in their business. They are also going to talk about their concerns regarding climate change and what they could do so as to help lessen the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
These ski areas are part of the group Rocky Mountain Climate Organization. They sincerely believe that as global warming worsens, the amount of snow in the Rocky Mountains will eventually be reduced and that sure would be affecting the livelihood in their areas. This effect would of course be part of the rising temperatures. In fact, experts and scientists are estimating that the temperatures could go up by three degrees or to a high of seven degrees come the end of this century.
Alan Henceroth works with Arapahoe Basin and he says, “Try to be a leader and try to set some examples. Whether it’s purchasing wind-energy credits to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions or what, we’ve got to do something. It’s time for people to start acting.”
