SoLait 100 - Solar Milk Frother

by Kevin Humphrey on April 23rd, 2006

SoLait 100 - Solar Milk FrotherNow here’s something you don’t see everyday; a solar-powered milk frother. Yes, indeed. Though to be fair, one of these puppies is good for any type of liquid, not just those of the dairy variety.

The SoLait 100 is billed the kitchen utensil of the new generation. Once charged up with sunny goodness, you’ll be able to mix and froth your liquids in mere seconds. Whether it’s for an authentic cappuccino, a quick vinaigrette or even cocktails out at the cabana, the SoLait 100 will be there for you, in four trendy colours.

These are available from quantys, an interesting retailer of renewable energy products in Germany and are priced at €29.90 or about $37 US. Check out the product page here.

This is nifty if you’re into frothy fluids. I’d like to see more kitchen utensils of the new generation, though. Like a solar-powered CrockPot, or rice cooker, or oven toaster.

Hey Lynn - A solar-powered slow cooker would be very cool. I wonder how well one of those solar cookers would do as a slow cooker. I’ve been meaning to do some more posts on solar cooking, so let me see what I can dig up. Thanks.
