Solar Car’s World Tour Makes Beirut Stopover

As part of the world tour of a solar powered vehicle, Louis Palmer of Switzerland made a stopover in Beirut. This tour’s objective is to tell all people about the sun as a good source of energy and the use of vehicles that make use of solar energy.
In an interview he had with The Daily Star, Palmer disclosed, “For the first time in history, we are driving a car, powered by solar energy, around the whole world. We will report daily, how people are trying to stop global warming in the different countries of this world, and we want to show that solutions are available and everybody can be part of the solution.”
The driver of the solar-powered car shared, “The journey will last around 15 months with a goal to cover at least 50,000 kilometers. I will visit 50 countries and five continents.” He has already gone through quite a distance. He has been to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Turkey, Syria, Serbia, Hungary, and Austria. After that stopover in Beirut, he would then be making his way to Jordan.

I am very impressed with a car that uses no fuel,
runs on solar power, and runs for practically no
cost other than the initial cost of construction.
I have been drawing cars since I was five, I am
now 72, I have drawn a lot of cars! So now I am
working on a design for a “SolarTaxi” type car.
My design is a three wheel car, but will look much
different than Mr. Palmers solartaxi.
However I need a lot of information on how to
build this car. Anyone know where I should look
for such information?
Good luck Mr. Palmer on your travels, you are
doing a wonderful job!

I live in Hawaii. I hope solar cars take over here. We sure have plenty of sun for them.
