Soquel’s Largest Solar Project

In Soquel, California, the construction of the largest solar project of that county is already underway. This solar project can be found right on top of the Soquel High School. The whole solar project would be making use of 1800 solar panel units. All of the power that could be converted from the panels would be used by the campus. Estimates have it that the whole amount of power would mean 40% less off the electricity bill of the school.Cynthia Hawthorne is the Santa Cruz City Schools board’s president. She says, “We’re educating the next stewards of Earth.” Indeed, she is very right. After all, it is much easier to teach people when you have set an example. With the solar panels high up on the roof, the kids would be reminded everyday of the benefits of solar power.
Hawthorne also mentioned, “In this economic climate, we’re creating green jobs.” And she’s referring to the whole project. And she is right.
