SunPower Invests In Malaysia

by Noel on November 5th, 2008

Though SunPower Corporation is a company that is based in the United States, this company has decided that it would be worth investing outside of the country. In a report, it has been noted that this solar power company has put in RM 2.3 billion to be able to start up a production facility in Rembia in Malaysia.

There are two benefits that I can see with this set up. First, there is the part about creating jobs for people in the area. See, the company has projected that they are looking at filling up 7000 jobs. So that means 7000 people would be employed. The second benefit I see is that with more solar products entering the market, the competition would be fiercer meaning we all would be seeing more quality solar products at a cheaper price.

This would have to be a long wait though. The company said that this production plant would be starting operations come the early part of 2010.
