The Figure of Speech Speech
Whoa! Stop the presses! You know that little speech that the President guy gave the other night. Ignore it! Apparently, he didn’t mean it.
Get this - in responding to the Saudi’s in regards to what Junior actually meant with the whole reducing dependence on foreign oil thing, the administration replied that the ‘75% promise’ was not meant to be taken literally. It was only meant to dramatize the issue. A figure of speech, you know?
Don’t worry, it gets better.
When the Energy Secretary was asked at a news conference today why Big W didn’t call on Americans to help reduce dependence by reducing consumption through a change in their habits, the response was…“many Americans believe they’re already sacrificing by paying the prices they’re paying for gasoline and heating oil and natural gas.”
Well, that’s just doubleplusgood, it is!
This New York Times article has some of the gory details and the Gristmill is still all over it too.
