Tire Recyle Project Soon To Be Completed

Gibson Recycling was using those tires to create and produce fuel. However, because of the risks and the dangers involved in such a kind of recycling project, a new company – Merrick Construction) took over and had gone ahead and ceased the production of fuel from old tires.
Estimated to be completed this coming May, Merrick is now working on simply burying those thousands of tires and then cleaning up the site. The whole area measures 100 acres and there were about 30 million tires filling up the site. Scott Merrick, chief of Merrick Construction, proclaims, “We are required to recycle two-thirds of the rubber that was on the site and we have met that goal, and in fact, exceeded it a littl ebit. We have shut down the equipment that produces the tire-derived fuel.”
