Who Are ‘The Recycle Kids’?

by Noel on May 5th, 2007

The Recycle Kids. Who are they?

Well, they are actually volunteers and they are students. And what they do is instead of going around town and painting the town red, they go through schools like the Danville High School and the Danville Middle School. No, they do not spread mischief. Instead, what they do is they start collecting garbage bins and used piles of paper. They do this every Thursday.

Keith Drake is one of them Recycle Kids and he shares, “We’re recycling for Danville. We just figured we’d give back. We use a lot of paper at Danville and we felt we’d be better off to recycle it than to throw it away - tear down less trees and save the environment.”

According to the group, they are able to collect paper that weighs around 300 pounds for each week that they do their rounds. They also have created areas where students and faculty members can place soda cans and plastic bottles for easy collection.
